From what we’ve come to understand, the first mods came about shortly after the launch of Cyberpunk 2077. Now, because the game does not officially support mods, you won’t find super impressive mods here, but they are good enough, especially the ones that improve gameplay. Now, we must note that Cyberpunk 2077 major updates are coming in a few months, and they are bound to solve some of the many problems the game has been facing since its launch. When this happens, do not be surprised if some of the mods listed here no longer work as they should.
Best Cyberpunk 2077 mods to download
There are quite a few mods for Cyberpunk 2077, but not all of them are of high quality. With that in mind, we’ve decided to create a list of mods we believe you’ll want to check out.
1] Cyber Engine Tweaks Mod
One of the major problems facing Cyberpunk 2077 is its performance. The game is quite heavy on system resources hence the creation of Cyber Engine Tweaks. From our understanding, this mod was designed to give players a frame rate boost, but it appears to work best if you have an AMD CPU. Give it a test drive and let us know how well it works, if at all. Download Cyber Engine Tweaks from Nexus Mods.
2] More Options Mod
If you want to tweak things in the Cyberpunk 2077 menu along with unlocking certain options that are not available to players, then download and install the More Options mod. We are not sure how well it works, but just be careful of the possibility of this mod crashing your game. Download the More Options mod from the Nexus Mods website.
3] High Quality Shortcut Icons
Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t only launch in a bad state, but it also came with low-quality and blurry shortcut icons. Such things do not look pleasing on your desktop, therefore, if you want better-looking shortcuts, then download the High Quality Shortcuts Icon mod to your computer right now. Download High Quality Shortcuts from the Nexus Mods page.
4] CP77 Tools
If you’re the type of person who wants to create your own mods, then you may want to check out a set of modding tools known as CP77 Tools. As the name suggests, it is made for Cyberpunk 2077, and since the tool is a command-line-based app, you must have experience working with tools lacking a graphical user interface. Download CP77 Tools via Nexus Mods website.
5] Better Minimap Mod
When playing Cyberpunk 2077 like most other RPG titles, the minimap is extremely important for navigating the map. With this mod, known as Better Minimap, players will get an improved minimap that incorporates transparent minimap, additional zoom levels, border removal, and more. Download Better Minimap mod via Nexus Mods.
6] Full Gameplay Rebalance Mod
What we have here is a rather interesting mod because it does a lot more than the others above. It changes how important aspects of the game works. For example, enemies now have the ability to look upwards, which means, it is now harder to sneak around. Additionally, the same enemies can now wear armor and level scaling is gone. Download Full Gameplay Rebalance mod from Nexus Mods.
7] Metro System Mod
When it comes down to the Metro System Mod, we can see why it is loved so much by the community. This mod brings forth a functioning metro system to Night City with around 19 train stations spread across the entire city. It adds a whole new atmosphere to the game, and that is something Cyberpunk 2077 needs right now. Download Metro System Mod from Nexus Mods.
8] Appearance Menu Mod
If you are a person with style, a person who loves fashion, then you’ll fall in love with the Appearance Menu mod. With it installed in Cyberpunk 2077, players will have the chance to change the outfits of NPCs and even change the appearance of vehicles from within the game. To add more excitement, this mod can allow players to use scripts in order to set up fights and plan routes whenever the player wants. Download the Appearance Menu mod from Nexus Mods.
9] Alternate Crowd Behavior and Other Tweaks
From the early showings of Cyberpunk 2077 before it was released to the world, the developer, CD Projekt Red, gave the impression that the NPCs and overall crown behavior were second to none. Well, the final game did not meet expectations in that department. Luckily, the Alternate Crowd Behavior and Other Tweaks mod can help a little bit. With it, players can experience more dynamic crowds, and an increase in traffic and parked cars. However, this mod will deliver a decrease in performance, so expect a slight dip in frames-per-second during gameplay. Download Alternative Crown Behavior and Other Tweaks via Nexus Mods.
10] JB – TPP MOD WIP Third Person
Many fans of Cyberpunk 2077 were disappointed to learn the game could only be played in the first person despite the ability to customize the main character. Be angry no longer because the JB – TPP MOD WIP Third Person mod is designed to allow gamers to play in the third person. Because the game was not built around third-person play, there will be a few bad animations here and there. Not only that, but heads might go missing as well. Download JB TPP Mod WIP Third Person via Nexus Mods.
11] Appearance Change Unlocker Mod
OK, so when Patch 1.5 was released, it gave gamers the ability to change V’s appearance by using the mirror in his apartment. With this mod, users can perform greater customizations. For example, changes to his voice, body, facial features, and more. Download Appearance Change Unlocker mod from Nexus Mods. Read: Fix SteamVR Headset Not Detected issue
Do mods disable achievements Cyberpunk 2077?
From what we have gathered thus far, mods do not disable Steam Achievements. In fact, this is something confirmed by the developers themselves.
Do mods make Cyberpunk 2077 better?
It all depends on the nature of the mod, and what the player wants. Some mods perform minor changes while others change the gameplay for the better.
